Bald Baby Eagle FREE Amigurumi Pattern

Thank you to everyone who tried and shared pictures of their finish project using my Molang pattern! They were all so adorable and inspired me to do nore of these for free. Difficulty: Beginner
This pattern is composed of shapes and uses basic crochet stitches.

 

You will need:

  • Crochet thread or yarn - white, dark brown, yellow

  • 1.25mm Crochet hook

  • Toy stuffing

  • 3 mm black safety eyes 

  • Embroidery needle

  • Blush or pink yarn (optional)

 

Abbreviations:
sc = single crochet
inc = increase
mr = magic ring
dec = decrease

dc = double crochet

sl st = slip stitch

FO = Finish off

 

Pattern:

 

Head (in white yarn)

Round 1: Do 6 sc in magic ring (6)

Round 2: *inc in each st around* (12)

Round 3: *inc, sc in next sc*, repeat 6 times(18)
Round 4: *inc, sc in next 2 sc*, repeat 6 times (24)
Round 5: *inc, sc in next 3 sc*, repeat 6 times (30)

Round 6: *inc, sc in next 4 sc*, repeat 6 times(36)

Round 7-11 sc in each stitch around for 5 rounds (36)

Round 12: *slip stitch, 3dc in same stitch, sl st in next stitch* repeat 11 times around

Finish off with long tail for sewing.

 

 

Beak (yellow)

Round 1: Do 4 sc in magic ring (4)

Round 2: *inc, sc in next sc*, repeat 6 times (18)

Round 3: *inc, 2sc* repeat 2 times (20)

 

Body (in brown yarn)
Round 1: 6sc in magic ring (6)
Round 2: inc each stitch around (12)
Round 3: *inc, sc in next sc*, repeat 6 times 18)
Round 4: *inc, sc in next 2 sc*, repeat 6 times (24)
Round 5: *inc, sc in next 3 sc*, repeat 6 times (30)
Round 6: *inc, sc in next 4 sc*, repeat 6 times (36)
Round 7-14: sc in each stitch around for 8 rounds (42)

Finish off.
 

Wings (make 2 in brown)

Round 1: 6sc in magic ring (6)

Round 2: inc each stitch around (12)

Round 3-5: sc in each stitch around for 3 rounds (12)

Round 6: sc both sides together (6)

 

Tail (in white)

 

Round 1: 6sc in magic ring (6)

Round 2: *inc, sc in next sc*, repeat 3 times (9)

Round 3: sc in each stitch around (9)

Finish and leave long tail for sewing

 

Feet (make 2 in yellow)

*Chain 3, sc in next hook from chain, sc in next stitch* repeat one more time until you get a 'v' shaped talon

 

 

 

Assembly:

  •  Sew beak between rounds 8 and 9

  • Insert safety eyes between rounds 8 & 9 one stitch apart from the beak

  • Whip stitch the head to the body and fill with toy stuffing gradually

  • sew the legs and tail (the tail should be placed so that the baby eagle will be able to stand on its own)

  • Optional: add blush or sew angry brows to give it a fierce expression 

 

Any feedback on my patterns will be amazing! As for my eagle he turned out to be a little less than 1.5 inches! You can try this with other gauges as well, I would love to see how big or how small this baby bird can go!
